The new PureData System for Analytics N2001 delivers faster out of the box scan rates than it’s competitors – no flash required.
While one of our competitors (Oracle) will say that they can scan data at a rate of 100 GB/sec from the flash in their storage servers, there are a number of caveats to that statement. If the data cannot be accessed in the flash storage for some reason –
- It is not there
- The software chose to do a smart scan which bypasses the flash cache
- The blocks of data must be read from disk, and the scan speed from disk is only 25 GB/sec
The balanced, workload optimized architecture of the PureData System for Analytics delivers an effective scan rate of 128 GB/sec out of the box, with absolutely no tuning or DBA intervention. And then the hardware accelerator (FPGA) acts on the data, decompressing, filtering, and processing the data as fast as it come off of the disk.
Not only is the new N2001 model faster than ever before, it is also far more environmentally friendly. It allows you to sore more than 50% more data in the same rack space, while using the same amount of power and cooling as before. It uses 40% less power than Oracle Exadata and still delivers far faster scan rates. A true win-win scenario.
Now is the time to evaluate the new PureData System for Analytics N2001, but you have to be prepared to do more with less, faster than ever before!
