Addison Goering

Addison Goering is a Certified IT Specialist with the WebSphere Education team. His main specialty is the design, development, and delivery of courses in the WebSphere product family. He has developed and delivered courses ranging from webinars to week-long workshops on products such as WebSphere ESB, IBM Workload Deployer, WebSphere Application Server, WebSphere Business Services Fabric, and WebSphere BPM. He is the lead developer on the WebSphere Education team that is developing education on IBM PureApplication System. Addison holds a B.S. in education from Keene State College in New Hampshire, mainframe certification from DePaul University in Chicago, and several certifications from IBM. He is the father of five children and plays as much golf as possible in between shuttling children.

Ahmed Abbass

Ahmed is a Senior IT Architect with IBM Software Group who joined IBM in 1999 as a software developer within IBM Software lab in Cairo. Ahmed delivered software lab services for almost ten years to customers in his region and worldwide, before he joined IBM Software on Power Systems technical sales team covering Middle East and Africa. In addition to IBM Software on Power, Ahmed is also a member of IBM PureApplication System tiger team, Middle East and Africa. Ahmed has published several articles on IBM developerWorks, two invention publications and two filed patents. Ahmed is an IBM Redbooks Thought Leader with focus on IBM PureSystems.

Ajay Dholakia

Ajay Dholakia is a Senior Technical Staff Member and an IBM Master Inventor in IBM Systems and Technology Group. Ajay’s current focus is on solution architectures based on PureFlex Systems aimed at Big Data Analytics, Cloud Computing, Security, and Smarter Computing. In his 18+ years with IBM, he has lead diverse projects ranging from research, technology and product development as well as business/technical strategy. Ajay holds over 25 patents and has authored or co-authored over 40 technical publications, including a book. He is a Senior Member of IEEE. Ajay holds an MBA from Henley Business School in UK and a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from N.C. State University.

Alan Arnold

Alan Arnold is the EVP and CTO for Vision Solutions and is responsible for the global technology, services and support strategy for the business. Alan joined Vision in 2000, and since joining the company, he has served in a variety of positions including EVP of Technologies and President and Chief Operating Officer of worldwide operations. Prior to joining Vision Solutions, Inc., Mr. Arnold was a senior technology executive in the management consulting practice of Ernst & Young LLC. Alan served as the firm’s subject matter expert for IBM technology and e-commerce solutions, and was one of the founders and managers of the Ernst & Young Advanced Development Center (ADC). Prior to E&Y, Alan worked at StorageTek (XL/Datacomp) as the National Director of Technologies, and prior to this, he worked for several other companies in technology and management roles. Mr. Arnold is recognized as an expert in advanced technologies, business process improvements and managed availability solutions. He has authored or co-authored five books on technology and business topics that have been published worldwide. He has written numerous articles for some of the leading publications in the industry, and has had his work presented to the United States Senate Technology subcommittee and State of California.

Alec Kennedy

Alec is the expert integrated systems social business manager for IBM. He maintains social media channels for expert integrated systems and also moderates the monthly #expertsyschat on Twitter. Alec currently resides in New York City and follows his local soccer team with great passion.

Alex Yost

Alex Yost is VP and Business Line Executive for IBM PureFlex, System x, and BladeCenter. Previously, Alex was Director of Product Management responsible for hardware, options and storage offerings for IBM’s Industry – Standard x86 servers. Prior to that, Alex was the IBM executive responsible for the Intel Alliance. Alex also worked for IBM in Tokyo Japan as Sales Executive for IBM eServer xSeries in Asia Pacific and Brand Manager for IBM eServer xSeries in Asia Pacific. Alex has a long history with IBM in the Intel - based server business, and has held various responsibilities in the organization including Worldwide Manager of Product Marketing for IBM eServer xSeries and was operations manager for brand’s Worldwide Marcomm organization before taking brand management responsibility. Alex has been with IBM System x since 1997. Before coming to IBM, Alex held sales and channel management positions with Xerox. Alex has a degree in Economics and a Master’s in Business Administration, both from Duke University, in Durham, NC.

After more than 12 years of experience in the software field at IBM, Alexander joined the management team to drive the SWG Europe PureApplication activity at its launch in 2012. Whilst working in the Civil Service, she has spent time in private office in HMRC, and in working as part of a commercial team in the Ministry of Defence. Outside of work, Alys is learning Mandarin, and volunteers for the NSPCC.

Amit Acharya

Amit Acharya is a Senior Product Manager for IBM PureApplication System and currently leading PureApplication Service on SoftLayer (Beta). His role includes influencing the broader portfolio strategy and the cloud products roadmap. He performs market analysis and gathers product requirements that capture client feedback, as well as competitive insights. He has a strong background in enterprise application development and middleware solutions. He has authored IBM Redbooks publications about service-oriented architecture (SOA), PureApplication System and has contributed to the IBM patent portfolio. Andre Tost

Andre Tost works as a Senior Technical Staff Member in the IBM WebSphere organization, where he has helped IBM customers establish service-oriented architectures for the past eight years. His special focus at the moment is on cloud computing platforms and integrated expert systems. Before his current assignment, he spent over ten years in various consulting, development, and architecture roles in IBM. He has worked with large IT organizations across the globe on SOA and BPM and has acted as Lead Architect for many large IT projects, specifically around the Enterprise Service Bus pattern. He started his career at IBM as a C++ and Java developer and still enjoys developing code.

Andreas Groth

Andreas Groth is the IBM Lead Architect for Virtualization and Cloud in Europe (ATS PureSystems). He has been a recognised advocate of x86 virtualization since early 2003 and leads technical consultancy engagements for European clients at senior influencer level. Andy has driven the creation of several SDI reference architectures for IBM and has since been leading IBM's SmartCloud Desktop Infrastructure (SDI) efforts in Europe. Andy is a Chartered Engineer of the IET (CEng IET), a Chartered IT professional of the British Computer Society (MBSC CITP), MCSE and VMware VCP (ESX2, VI3 and vSphere). Andrew Sotiropoulos, General Manager of PureFlex, is responsible for IBM’s worldwide PureFlex business, including worldwide sales, development, marketing and support functions. He brings 28 years of experience in hardware, services, and marketing from across the globe, particularly in the Americas and Asia Pacific. Within these roles he has worked with many different clients and business partners for a broad understanding of how to achieve mutual success. Angela Reese

Angela Reese is the Program Director for PureSystems Category Marketing. She is an experienced, results-driven marketing and strategy professional. While at IBM, Angela has led market management responsibilities for broad areas of the company's software portfolio - defining Go to Market priorities to drive pipeline for products and solutions across Tivoli, AIM and PureSystems. Currently, Angela leads the messaging and marketing strategy for PureSystems Solutions, focusing on greater visibility and sales execution success for solutions around DevOps, Cloud, Mobile, Social and Analytics. Angelo Littera

Angelo Littera is a Senior Technology Architect with IBM Global Technology Services in Italy. He is in charge of defining technical solutions and infrastructure architecture, mainly working in the areas of Web Architectures as well as Service Oriented Architecture. He joined IBM in 1996 and during over fifteen years of practical experience, principally between Public and Financial sectors, his involvement covered all aspects of the project life-cycle, from engagement to delivery, although his focus has mainly been in the solution design and technical coordination of delivery activities. Ann Sheridan

Ann Sheridan is the Program Director for PureSystems Ecosystem Marketing. She works at the IBM Silicon Valley Lab and is responsible for marketing programs for IBM's PureSystems Business Partner Ecosystem. Ann has been a part of PureSystems marketing for two years. Ash Simpson

Ash Simpson is a IBM and Open Group Certified IT Architect in the GTS Engagement Business Integration Services (EBIS) team. Before joining IBM in mid 2008 Ash was a senior engineer in a large Australian Internet Service Provider. During this time he developed and implemented the companies internal and customer hosting IT infrastructure. Ash joined IBM SSO as a Senior Linux Specialist in a large strategic outsourcing account. In 2009 Ash moved to the then, newly formed, Virtual Services team where he assisted clients and IBMers with VMware virtualisation technology and solution design. Athanassios Francisco Sakkas

Athanassios Francisco Sakkas has been a development manager in the Linux Technology Center (LTC) at the IBM Brazil facility in Hortlandia since 2007. The Brazilian lab is part of the WW LTC Lab and is responsible for Linux and open systems development. Athanassios has more than 15 years of experience with IBM, Nextel and Motorola, involving Software and Systems development, consulting and system integration services. He has spent more than 10 years working in the telecommunication industry Athanassios speaks English, Portuguese, Spanish and Greek. Balaji Veeraraghavan

Brandon Scott

Brandon has have been with Advanced Technology Services Group in Malvern, PA since May of 2011 and is a graduate of Temple University with a degree in Management Information Systems. Since this time he has been involved with a vast number of IBM technologies including IBM Systemx servers, DS 3-5000 storage system, Brocade SAN and Cisco SAN switches, IBM Bladecenter technology, as well as XIV, v7000 and SVC storage systems. Brenda Christensen

Brenda Christensen is experienced as a market, product and brand development executive in a range of companies from F100 to start-ups businesses including now VP Marketing at InMage Systems. She spent 12 years in Corporate Sales before assuming managerial responsibilities in Marketing. As the first VP of Brocade she inaugurated the brand and the initial products with founder Kumar Malavalli. For several years she was the Chair of the Fibre Channel Association and while on the Board of the SNIA co-chaired the Storage Networking World Conference. Brian S. Dreher

Cathy Cocco

Cathy Cocco is a market segment manager in the IBM PureFlex and Flex Systems Marketing team. Cathy started her career at IBM in 1989 as part of the IBM Mainframe team and then moved to Austin to join the RS/6000 UNIX development team. She took an assignment working in China as a Sales Executive in the Telco Industry. She came back to a U.S. role, working in the Sensors and Actuators Group selling RFID software solutions into Healthcare, Pharmaceutical and the Energy and Utility industries. She continued to sell software and started selling services when she moved to the Public Sector, Supply Chain Group in IBM Global Business Consulting. Cathy holds a BSEE from Cornell University as well as a MS in Reliability Engineering and an MBA in Marketing.

Cecile Arnaud

Based in Ecully, Lyon Area, France, Cecile Arnaud is the Client Manager MSP and ISV, Région Sud-Est. Since joining IBM in as a market analyst in 1997, Cecile has held a series of marketing positions that involved working with businesses of all sizes. Don Fitzpatrick

Don Fitzpatrick currently serves as IBM’s General Manager, Global Networking Alliances, having overall responsibility for strategy and execution with IBM’s top global networking partners. IBM PureSystems were first launched on April 11, 2012 as part of a new category of systems called Expert Integrated Systems. IBM PureSystems is a family of offerings that have 3 key attributes including built-in-expertise, integration by design and simplified experience. Specifically, Jason is responsible for the PureApplication System and the PureData System. The PureApplication and PureData Systems come with built-in-expertise in the form of patterns all under a single unified management, maintenance and monitoring console. Jason is an IBM Fellow and CTO, PureApplication System. Jason is currently responsible for defining technologies and products related to running middleware on expert integrated systems and cloud infrastructures. Previously Jason has served as Chief Architect of WebSphere Extended Deployment (comprised of WebSphere Virtual Enterprise, WebSphere eXtreme Scale and WebSphere Compute Grid), WebSphere sMash, and WebSphere Application Server on distributed platforms. Jeff Howard is the Vice-President for IBM PureFlex System Marketing in IBM Systems and Technology Group responsible for launching and marketing IBM PureFlex System and IBM Flex System offerings. Jeff is based in Raleigh, NC at the IBM Research Triangle Park campus. Maik Gasterstaedt

Maik Gasterstaedt is an IBM storage and cloud computing expert within IBM Germany. Working in the IBM SAP International Competence Center (ISICC) in Walldorf since 2008, he is responsible to develop and proof architectures, concepts and infrastructure solutions for SAP environments. Martha Hoyt is a 17-year IBM veteran with broad experiences in integrated systems, cutting-edge Cloud and on-Premise IBM software products. She is currently an IBM Senior Product Manager on the IBM PureSystems team managing the PureData for Transactions and DB2 Patterns product with regard to client facing requirements, functions and features. She was an early member of the IBM Online Collaboration Services team joining in 2007 working on the initial beta period and becoming the first product manager. Nik came to IBM in 1997 to join what would become the eBusiness hosting team as a system administrator in Tampa, Florida. He was an administrator for many "kitchen table" know sites from Olympics.org to Macys.com and became a Technical Solutions Architect in 2000. As a TSA he developed one of the first Toyota.com sites as well as many other IBM eBusiness hosting sites. Rob Murgai

Rob has been with IBM since 2000 when he graduated from MSU with his Bachelors in computer engineering. He later got his Masters in computer science from RPI while working on software automation of the IBM Chip Fabrication Plant (Fab) in Fishkill, NY. The Fab was the premier fully automated chip plant in the world, and his experience gave him the opportunity to work as an SME with the various IBM partners like Sony and Global Foundries in the full development and deployment lifecycle of the software infrastructure in their respective fabs. Robert Laird is the product manager for WebSphere Service Registry & Repository (WSRR) and has been an architect in the IBM WebSphere Foundation group for IBM, where he focused on SOA, SOA Governance, and Policy. Vincent Boucher

Vincent Boucher is a Client Technical Specialist Storage for IBM Switzerland in System and Technology Group. He joined IBM France in 2005 in the IBM Montpellier benchmark center, working on large High Performance Computing opportunity as a platform specialist on System x. As storage quickly became a critical aspect for HPC architectures, he started his storage journey with IBM General Parallel File System and the IBM DS Family. Because Vincent built some of these live demonstrations, he had the opportunity to travel across Europe to meet Business Partners and IBM sales teams in order to demonstrate these technologies and help them use the demo center. Dr. Zeydy Ortiz is a Senior Performance Engineer in the Systems & Technology Group at IBM. She focuses on optimizing performance of System x, BladeCenter and PureFlex systems with an emphasis on energy efficiency and virtualization. Zeydy owns the technical content for the IBM System x & BladeCenter Virtualization Sizing Guides. The sizing guides provide general recommendations to define the infrastructure needed when moving to a virtualized environment. Zeydy is contributor members of The Green Grid helping the industry define metrics for efficient resource utilization in the data center. Zeydy joined IBM shortly after completing her doctoral degree in Computer Science at North Carolina State University.
